The drift cars handle like a unicycle on ice making what could be enjoyable into a frustrating mess, the drag racing is fun once or twice until you realise its incredibly motonous and then the monster trucks are simply a coin grab minigame where again, the car handles like complete garbage and this is all it gives you, time trials and three party style minigames that are just a pain in the ass to play and that is it! Add that there is next to no story elements, just forced PvP events that you can only play once a month and its basically the little extras that Forza Horizon gives for free in a wonderful overpriced bundle. For £25 you get around 6 new cars, only two of which you can actually use as the new classes, and two motorbikes which handle decently, the motorbikes are the one saving grace. Despite what people said, I loved it, the different classes, the easy drifting, I loved the game so much I beat it three times over on separate accounts and even went on to play other racing games so imagine how excited I was when the new expansion was leaked! Fast forward to today when I bought it and I have never gone from loving a game to despising it so quickly before. Your games have been mediocre at best lately. No matter what the game finds ways to make sure you crash. A true atcade racer where even in worst case scenarios by accident you survived. I have had occassions on 6 lane roads with no traffic.onlt to end up crashing into one single car popping out of nowhere.

Also the steering seems to have a limited "out of control"zone working the opposite way where you as driver are confronted with situations where the car doesnt respond, or pulls to left or right making you crash into a convenietly placed obstacles. Further, the game seems to conveniently spawn traffic right around the corner or in any other situation you cannot escape from. I actually had the situation that during a 2.5+ hour race, i crashed being first, then had to wait for the game to recalibrate for 2 minutes, only to get back on track while the opponents were 5 km away. While you as a driver have to conquer the rather arcady car physics, the "a.i." will crash through, fly through, or do anything as possibly aburd to keep up. But its all acceptable, were it not for the HORRIBLE a.i.or a total absence of it. First, the amount of rides is very limited + there are limited disciplines to ride in excepted performance, circuite, street, off road etc.

Idea is great, an open world to cruise in, earn money & upgrades, but the final product is disappointing. But I can genuinely say that I would recommend this as a good time waster vehicle based game. I will be very interested to see where Ubisoft and Ivory Tower take this game in the future and whether or not it will ever be offline. Drift cars are horrifically difficult to drive outside of the event components. The new vehicles (monster trucks, drifters, drag and bikes) are all great - with monster trucks particularly pleasing when you take them to the normal roads outside of the events. Music is still meh and car sounds are still meh at times. With my multi-player friends in game jumping around all over the place and disappearing for no reason etc. But graphically it is so so much nicer to look at with weather genuinely changing the way that you handle the vehicles. The world while huge and interesting, is still a little boring. The various upgrading paths you can take the vehicles is interesting and I genuinely like it - but limited in that not every car can be taken down each path. the upgrading system is honestly a bit annoying in that you have to "win" everything, but it is okay. Driving feels better, but is still very arcade. Don't get me wrong, this is NOT a forza horizon 2 or anything, but for me it is worlds better than the new need for speed. In all, the issues I had with the game initially had largely gone or were decreased. I decided to buy this version because it was so cheap at my local retailer and have to say was / am very happily surprised. I found it bland to look at, the world huge but empty, the driving mechanics horrid and menu systems confusing and bewildering. I found it bland to look at, the world huge I gave up on The Crew after it first came out and returned it for my money back on my purchase.
